Back to reality!
(posted at 10:27PM BST)

It isn't very often I write two posts on the same day (amazing if I write two posts in the same week or even in the same month!) but I felt that the rebuttal I posted earlier deserved its' own entry due to its' significance.

Business is going really well at the moment; currently remote-managing eight networks now, renting floorspace rather than rackspace at a London datacenter, in the process of securing a lucrative contract for a local company in the Spilsby area managing their main network and their branch offices and the salary as a one-man band is just a tad better than what I was on in my last job ;-)

On a personal note, my sisters' wedding is still scheduled for the beginning of September and I still haven't written my speech yet!

If you hadn't already guessed, I'm tasked with giving her away... best thing really as I won't get anything for her! - would try eBay but apparently you can get your account killed for trying something like that :-(

Any ideas or witty jokes can be mailed to the usual address (no explicit jokes please, Stuey!).

Oooh bugger... is that the time ?

Catch you all later!

... and now a public service announcement!
(posted at 10:18PM BST)

Normal service is now resumed!

A lot of people have been mailing me to ask why my journal has been unavailable for the last month or so; a question which until recently I have been unable to answer with any authority as Linkage College took offence at some of the criticisms I had levelled towards the management of their ICT Department.

David Bradshaw (Director of Human Resources @ Linkage Community Trust) contacted me initially to express that my journal contained negative remarks about Linkage but when I asked him to clarify which entries contained these negative remarks so that I could take them down immediately to minimize any potential damage to Linkage, he did not elaborate further and even though no official takedown request was filed with my hosting provider, Spilsby Internet Solutions (which is still technically me albeit in a different capacity), I thought it best to take my entire journal down while a legal eagle examined every entry to determine whether I had broken any libel laws.

Thanks to my legal eagle, my entire journal is now back online after six weeks of downtime.

It is the opinion of my legal eagle that statements which are based on hard facts cannot be considered libel or slanderous - Linkage has yet to provide any kind of proof that my statements are based on fictitious information and as David has also failed to back up his claim that my journal contains 'negative remarks' about Linkage by providing me with URLs to the offending items, I will be rejecting any and all future takedown claims or complaints referring to journal items posted prior to this one.

I still hold Linkage as a whole in the highest regard; for the greater good they have done, for what good they currently do and what they will no doubt continue to do with the notable exception of the management of the ICT Department and those individuals who are allowing the ICT Department to continue providing a level of service that is detrimental to the running of the entire organization.

I would like to thank the anonymous Linkage (ex-)employees (and students!) who have supported me throughout this whole sorry episode - to those of you who are reading this, it was great working with you!

P.S. I have seen a recent copy of the ICT Departments' fault stats.... bit high, aren't they lads... something like quadruple the monthly number of faults since I left ;-)
